ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Methodist University baseball team has been ranked No. 28 in the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Collegiate Baseball national poll.

Tuesday's poll is the first of the season for the ABCA. St. Thomas (Minn.) is the No. 1 team in the poll, receiving six of a possible eight first-place votes. Methodist, ranked 28th, is 18-8 overall and 6-4 in the USA South Athletic Conference thus far this season.

The last time the Monarchs were ranked was Apr. 7, 2009.

This is one of two recognized Division III polls. Methodist has also received in this week's NCBWA/D3baseball.com poll.

Methodist will travel to Greensboro on Friday for a 5 p.m. start.
