FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Throughout the summer the Methodist University Department of Athletics will feature a student-athlete from each team on the web site. The student-athlete will have the opportunity to answer a hodge podge of questions, almost completely unrelated to their athletic performance to give Methodist fans an inside look at the Monarchs.

Katherine Meindl recently completed her junior year at Methodist while competing with the women's tennis team. This past season she finished 11-10 at number one singles and 16-5 at number one doubles. Meindl went on a 13-match doubles winning streak through the conference tournament with teammate Laura Baker and earned a No. 10 regional ranking in doubles. She is a three-time USA South First Team All-Conference selection and currently stands tied for eighth in singles wins and seventh in doubles wins at Methodist. Meindl is also a three-time Methodist Scholar Athlete and USA South Academic All-Conference honoree.

1. What's the first thing you think of when you hear Methodist University Monarchs?
The first thing I heard of Methodist was "isn't that a Christian school and don't you have to take bible classes," I responded saying yes but only two. My grandpa asks me every time I visit what a Monarch is, Is it a butterfly or a lion or something like that? We are basically the king of the jungle.

2. If you HAD to get a tattoo, what would you get?
Already have one... I don't recommend anyone getting one. I dont regret mine but I'd rather imagine my body as a blank canvas than have to work around the tattoo I already have... "don't tell coach" ... but If I had to get another one It would be a cross probably behind my ear to match Laura

I also have learned that if you don't like someone initially it usually means you will really like them after you get to know them better and that they probably like you a lot more than you think.. LAURA BAKER! I LOVE her.. Doubsy.

11. What part of Methodist will you always take with you?

I found a rope and climbed a tree and since I was a beginner flyer and didn't want to fly too far away from my mom I tied my ankle to one end of the rope and then tied the other end of the rope to the branch I was on and then jumped off. I was hanging in my back yard after a brief flight yelling softly for my neighbors dog to come chew the rope off my ankle for about a half an hour... softly because mom would have been upset if she found me there but eventually the neighbors saw me hanging in the front yard and came and cut off the rope and delivered me safely to my mom.
