FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Long Hill Elementary students traveled to Methodist University on Wednesday afternoon to visit Monarch athletics for "Project Playday." Methodist student-athletes volunteered to teach the elementary student their respective sports through a variety of stations.
There were stations representing lacrosse, baseball, softball, soccer, football, dance, cheer, tennis, volleyball, basketball and golf. The elementary students rotated around to participate in each of the sports and pick up a few pointers from the Monarch student-athletes.
Project Playday has become an annual event that serves as a great opportunity for Methodist student-athletes to give back to the local community by engaging and mentoring youth through collegiate athletics.
