Baker competed on the Methodist track and field team from 1985-1989. A seven-time All-American, she was just the second woman to earn All-American honors for the track and field team. Baker left Methodist with a number of top marks and still holds the indoor record for 55 meter hurdles (8.18) as well as the outdoor records for 100 meter hurdles (14.30) and 400 meters (56.20).
