Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Methodist men's soccer team came up just short to Catholic on Sunday afternoon with the Cardinals scoring the game-winning goal in the 47th minute of play.

The first half passed scoreless with both teams coming up with opportunities. It was the Cardinals who struck first with a shot to the far post early in the second half. Methodist kept pushing with six shots in the second half, but Catholic came away with the 1-0 win.

Methodist goalkeeper Kyle Beach had six saves in the game while Quinn Daly earned the shutout with seven saves for Catholic.

The Monarchs will travel to Christopher Newport on Saturday to face Marietta College at 7 pm.
