SUNSET BEACH, N.C. - The Methodist women's golf team shot their best round in the final day of the Sea Trail Women's Intercollegiate hosted by Elon University. The Monarchs finished eighth with a score of 944 (319-320-305).
Western Carolina won the tournament with an 897 (293-302-302) just one stroke ahead of second place Longwood at 898 (299-295-304).
Methodist senior
Susan Martin finished in a tie for 12th with a 229 (74-78-77) for the weekend. Junior
Paige Caldwell came back with an even par 72 in the third round to tie for 34th at 238 (84-82-72) while senior
Alana Swain placed 36th at 239 (78-81-80). Sophomore
Kelsey Magnine tied for 38th at 241 (83-79-79) and junior
Emily Jackson shaved another five strokes on her round score to finish 45th at 249 (90-82-77).
The Methodist women's team will compete at the Wendy's Invitational in Charleston, S.C. Oct. 19-20.
