FARMVILLE, Va. - The Methodist women's golf team shaved 14 strokes from their second round score to shoot a 308 in the final round and claim third place at the Tina Barrett Longwood Invitational.
Longwood shot 903 (302-298-303) to win the tournament while James Madison finished second with a 908 (299-306-303).
Paige Caldwell led the Monarchs with a 10th place individual finish after shooting 232 (81-78-74).
Alana Swain tied for 14th with a 236 (82-78-76) and
Susan Martin tied for 21st with a 241 (82-83-83).
Kelsey Magnine placed 34th with a 256 (90-83-83).
Gretchen McLean withdrew from the final round finishing at 160 for the first two rounds.
Andrea Daly placed 30th overall as an individual with a score of 251 (88-86-77).
The Monarchs will finish the regular season Apr. 12-13 at the Agnes McAmis Memorial Women's Invitational in Greeneville, Tenn.
