HOWEY-in-the-HILLS, Fla – The Methodist University women's golf team earned their thirteenth consecutive NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship on Friday at the Mission Inn Resort on the El Campeon Course in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.

After allowing Wisconsin - Eau Claire and Gustavus Adolphus to trim a 20 stroke Monarch advantage down to single digits early in the round, Methodist roared back with an impressive back nine to top the Gusties by 19 shots and the Blugolds by 25.

The Monarchs carded a final round of 317 to finish the Championships at 1282 (+114). In addition to the 13 straight titles, Methodist has claimed 23 of the 25 women's golf titles since the sport's collegiate inception.

Individually, Jessica Urban of Wisconsin Stevens-Point earned medalist honors by edging out Methodist's Paige Caldwell. Urban fired a final round of 77 (+4) to finish the Championships at 21-over par. Caldwell was one stroke off the pace and Monarch teammate Alana Swain and Natalie Matuszak of Saint Mary's College finished in a tie for third at +23 for the week.

Gretchen McLean tied for 18th at 327 with an 80 on Friday while Kelsey Magnine wrapped up with a 364 overall after a tournament low 89. Susan Martin added a consistent 78 to the team score to finish her career as a four-time team champion.

"We are all very excited," Caldwell said. "It's nationals - word's cant even describe it. I had no clue where everyone stood, but I was focusing on my round and everyone came around the turn to finish the back nine strong."

The 2010 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships were co-hosted by Oglethorpe University and the Central Florida Sports Commission, who will co-host the 2011 Championships at the same site.
