Box Score POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Methodist men's soccer team trailed 1-0 at halftime, but came back to even the score and finish with the 1-1 tie against Vassar College.

Juliano Pereira put Vassar up 1-0 in the 34th minute of play on a header off of a corner from Ross Macklin. The Monarchs out shot Vassar 8-7 in the first half, but it wasn't until the 58th minute when Clayton Newton blasted a shot to the upper left corner to tie the game on the assist from Darren Wilson.

Both teams had opportunities to score the game-winner, but after the first overtime period, the game was called due to darkness.

Kyle Beach made 12 saves in goal for Methodist while Ryan Grimme had eight stops for Vassar.

The Monarchs will be back in action on Sunday when they travel to Farmingdale State.
