FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has released their academic awards for the 2011-12 year with three Methodist individuals recognized as Scholar-Athletes.
Student-athletes must
be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year, and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters in order to qualify for ITA Scholar-Athlete status.
Lindsie Bentham,
Katherine Meindl and
Emily Talley qualified for the award after a successful year both on and off the court. The trio helped the Monarchs to a sweep of the USA South Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles while earning a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
The Monarchs will kick off the 2012-13 season when they host the Methodist Invitational Sept. 15-16.
