INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced the field for its 2013 Division III men's and women's tennis tournaments on Monday afternoon.
The Methodist women's tennis team (20-2), winners of both the USA South Regular Season and Conference Tournament titles, will take on 16th ranked Washington and Lee (18-7) on Friday afternoon on the campus of Emory University.
Should Methodist win, it would take on Sewanee (18-5) in the second round on Saturday. Emory (14-4), Trinity of Texas (10-14) and Agnes Scott (12-5) are all on the other half of the bracket and would be a potential third round opponent on Sunday. Match times have yet to be determined.
This marks the Monarchs' ninth appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Last season, Methodist defeated Agnes Scott (5-2) in the opening round before falling to Emory (5-0) in the second round.
