LAURINBURG, N.C.  After trailing yesterday, Methodist women's golf B and C teams move up one spot on Tuesday. This makes the B team the victors of the tournament and the C team as the runner-up. Following the event the all-tournament team was announced and from the Monarchs were Marybeth Gainer and Alexandra Fox that were named to the list.

Location: Scotch Meadows CC (Par 72, 5,812 yards); Laurinburg, N.C.
Top team scores: 1 – Methodist B (333-322–655, +79), 2 – Methodist C (334-327–661, +85), 3 – Emory & Henry College (338-336–674, +98)
Top individuals: 1 – Trinity Ahing, Sandhills Community College (79-76–155, +11), T-2 – Marybeth Gainer, Methodist (80-78–158, +14), T-2 – Alexandra Fox, Methodist (78-80–158, +14), T-2 – Katie Hall, Emory & Henry (84-74–158, +14)

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Gainer (B team) and Fox (C team) finished the highest among all Methodist golfers in this event, at a tie for second. Gainer shot a 78 (+6) in the second round to jump up four spots while Fox posted an eight-over 80 to stay in the same placement as she was at the end of round one.
• Staying in the top-five, in a tie for fifth, was Jenna Rutledge (78-81–159, +15) of the C team following an 81 (+9) for the day. Fellow C teammate Chole Kraus (86-79–165, +21) moved up five spots to come after carding a 79 (+7).
• Megan Kestner (80-82–158, +14) of the B team found herself still in the top-10 after recording a 10-over 82. Fellow B team member Anna Ziegler (83-84–167, +23) shot an 84 (+12) for the round to place her in 12th.
• Coming in a tie for 16th together was Jazlyn Segura (90-82–172, +28) and Emily Skowronski (92-80–172, +28) of the B team. Both of these young ladies played much better today as Segura shot an 82 (+10) while Skowronski carded a 12-over 80 on the day.
• Rounding out the C team are Molly McCluskey (92-87–179, +35) and Jamie Rush (95-94–189, +45). McCluskey took off five strokes to bring her down to a 87 (+15) and Rush played about the same as her first round total but finished with a 94 (+22)

This concludes the scheduled fall events for the B and C teams, as they do not take the course again until March of 2023 at the Deercroft Spring Invitational.
