BREVARD, N.C. After the first of two days at the conference outdoor track & field championship, the Methodist men sit in second place out of seven teams with 68 points, while the women find themselves in fifth place out of eight teams with 14 points.

TOP PERFORMANCES
- Drew Topoly crushed the competition in the men's 3000m steeple chase, posting a first-place time of 9:52.76 to earn the Monarchs ten points. With a time of 11:01.09, Logan Williams followed in fifth for two points towards the team score.
- Topoly also took first place in the men's 10,000m run, finishing in 31:44.23 for ten more points. Noah Carter also earned one point for Methodist with his sixth-place time of 36:37.45.
- Aaron Nash finished first in the men's 110m hurdles to earn the Methodist men ten points, while Micah McCorvey took fifth place for two points.
- Methodist had three points earners in the men's long jump competition. Nash earned eight points with a second-place jump of 6.50m, McCorvey took four points with a fourth-place jump of 6.26m, and Keyshaun Pete collected one point with his sixth-place jump of 6.21m.
- Austin Ezzell earned first place in the men's 800m run, recording a time of 1:57.34 to take ten points for the Monarchs. Alex Topoly placed fifth with a time of 2:01.63 – good enough for two points.
- Cameron Schwartz threw a best mark of 39.51m in the men's javelin event, earning fifth place and two points.
- In men's discus, Nick Wiggins tossed a best mark of 35.78m, placing him in fourth for four points. Wiggins also performed well in the men's hammer throw, taking fifth place and two points with a throw of 35.41m.
- Brandi Gardner earned ten points for Methodist in the women's long jump, taking the top spot with a mark of 5.29m.
- Courtney Drumm took fourth place in the women's 10,000m run, completing the event in 38:55.70 and earning four points for the team.
