Methodist Extends Winning Streak to Seven

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Methodist women's soccer team traveled to Salem College Friday to take on the Spirits.  Methodist (9-5, 5-0) scored three goals in the first half and went on to win 5-0 over Salem (7-6).

Kate Ramsay assisted Danielle Minichello for the Monarchs' first goal in the 30th minute of play.  Christine Ellington followed up with a goal in the 32nd minute and Allyson Feller scored in the 43rd minute to give Methodist the 3-0 lead at halftime.

Whitney Roberson scored in the 63rd minute and Jillian Reed snuck one in with just under 22 minutes to play in the game.

Sophomore Kasey Nichols and freshman Sara Atlman secured the shutout with three saves.  Salem's Andrea Baldwin had eight saves for the Spirits.

The Monarchs will host N.C. Wesleyan on Sunday at 2 pm.
