FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - After a scoreless first half, the Methodist women's soccer team scored four goals to shutout N.C. Wesleyan 4-0.
Freshman
Ally Feller started the scoring with a goal in the 51st minute. In the 74th minute, junior
Whitney Roberson had a shot saved, but freshman
Marissa Kuzbyt was there for the rebound and scored the Monarchs' second goal. Just four minutes later, freshman
Jillian Reed was fouled in the box and converted a penalty kick for the 3-0 lead. Freshman
Christine Ellington then fed Roberson for the header goal to finish the scoring.
Sophomore
Kasey Nichols had three saves for the Monarchs. Bryanne Godfrey and Sarah Hess combined for nine saves for the Bishops.
The Monarchs will face the winner of Meredith at Ferrum on Friday at Christopher Newport.
