FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Methodist women's soccer team earned their second shutout of the season, beating Ferrum 3-0 Saturday afternoon. Methodist improves to 4-5 overall and 2-0 in the USA South while Ferrum falls to 2-6 overall and 1-1 in the USA South.
Freshman
Danielle Minichello scored past a diving goalie for the first goal of the game with an assist from
Whitney Roberson. The score remained 1-0 Monarchs until the second half when
Jillian Reed scored off a corner kick to give the Monarchs a 2-0 lead. To seal the game, freshman
Lauren Colenda scored after receiving a pass from
Danielle Minichello.
The Monarchs dominated in the offensive end, outshooting Ferrum 26-2.
Kasey Nichols had two saves for Methodist while Katie Hodkinson made 16 saves for Ferrum.
Methodist will host Bridgewater College tomorrow at 2 p.m.
