NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Monarchs made a late run in the second half, but Christopher Newport came away with the 74-66 win.

Mark Jernigan tied the game at 17 with 8:29 to go in the first half, but Christopher Newport regained the lead. Junior
Tyler Sigman cut the lead to one with 4:54 remaining, but the Captains closed out the half with the 33-27 lead.
The Captains extended their lead to 14 points before Methodist went on a 20-8 run to cut the lead to just two points. Christopher Newport rebuilt an eight point lead, but sophomore
Marcus Connor scored a layup to move the Monarchs within four points with 3:10 to go in the game. Methodist was forced to foul and Christopher Newport finished with the 74-66 win.
Sigman paced the Monarchs with 24 points while senior #A.B. Lehmann# added 20 points.
The Monarchs will finish the regular season at Shenandoah Saturday at 6 pm.
