LYNCHBURG, Va. - Lynchburg College jumped out to the early lead and cruised to the 93-59 victory over the Methodist men's basketball team.

The score was tied early at six before the Hornets (7-8) went on an 8-0 run. The Monarchs (0-13) cut the lead to five on free throws from senior Tyler Sigman, but Lynchburg extended their lead to as many as 24 points in the first half. The Hornets held the 51-29 lead at halftime.

The Monarchs could not make up the difference in the second half as Lynchburg maintained control of the game. The Hornets finished up with the 93-59 victory.

Sophomore Tanner Carnes paced the Monarchs with 15 points and seven rebounds while Sigman added 10 points.

Brad Puffenbarger led Lynchburg with 18 points on 6-for-9 shooting from behind the arc.

The Monarchs will travel to N.C. Wesleyan on Monday for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.
