WINCHESTER, Va. - Methodist had a 10 point lead early in the first half, but saw their lead slip away as Shenandoah went on to take the 113-98 win.

Methodist senior Tyler Sigman hit a 3-pointer with 12:24 to go in the first half to give Methodist the 24-14 lead. Shenandoah came back and tied the game at 33 with seven minutes remaining. Both teams exchanged baskets before Sigman finished the half with two free throws to give Methodist the 49-47 lead at the break.

The score was tied again at 57 when Shenandoah went on a 12-0 run to take control. The Hornets led by as many as 14 before finishing with the 113-98 win.

Methodist sophomore Tanner Carnes led the team with 30 points and eight rebounds. Freshman Ross Diachenko added 28 points and Sigman added 14 points.

Shenandoah had five players in double figures paced by Wayne Washington with 29 points.

The Monarchs will host Greensboro on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
