Methodist Wins 3-0 Over Chowan

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Methodist women's soccer team took a 2-0 lead after the first half and finished with the 3-0 win over Chowan University.

Danielle Minichello scored the first goal of the game in the 28th minute with a shot to the upper left corner from 25 yards out on the assist from Brooke Corley. Marissa Kuzbyt scored her second goal of the season with just 27 seconds remaining in the first half.

Methodist out shot Chowan 6-2 in the second half, but it was not until the final two minutes when Kahley McCune recovered a loose ball in the 18-yard box and slotted the ball past the goalkeeper. The Monarchs finished with the 3-0 shutout.

Kasey Nichols made five saves for Methodist while Kristy Brown had four stops for Chowan.

Methodist will be back in action on Sunday at 2 p.m. when they host Lynchburg College.
