GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Methodist men's basketball team jumped out to the 9-0 lead, but Greensboro came back to knock off the Monarchs 92-73.
Methodist senior
Tyler Sigman drained a 3-pointer with 17:19 to go in the first half to help the Monarchs to a 9-0 lead. The Pride came back with a 9-0 run of their own to tie the game. Greensboro took the lead with 13:13 remaining and slowly extended it before taking the 47-31 advantage at the break.
The Monarchs had a stronger second half but could not make up the difference as the Pride held the momentum. Greensboro controlled the boards and cruised to the 92-73 win.
Sophomore
Mark Jernigan led the Monarchs with 23 points while sophomore
Tanner Carnes added 19 points.
The Monarchs will finish the regular season at home this weekend by hosting Shenandoah on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Christopher Newport on Saturday at 6 p.m.
