FERRUM, Va. - Ferrum College used a 19-0 start to cruise to the 98-61 victory over Methodist University on Sunday.

Methodist came up empty through the first six minutes of action giving Ferrum the opportunity to take the 19-0 lead. Travis Fulp put the Monarchs on the board with a 3-pointer from Devonne Blackshear with 13:52 remaining in the half. Marc Slade cut the lead to 12 with 9:41 on the clock, but the Panthers went on to take the 45-25 halftime lead.

The Monarchs had the opportunity to play multiple players in the game with 12 different players contributing points. Ferrum kept up the pressure and finished the game with the 98-61 win.

Fulp paced Methodist with 14 points while Tyre Blakely added nine. Kyle Combs scored eight points and finished with a team-high five rebounds.

Ferrum finished with five players in double figures led by Derek Mitchell with 16 points.

Methodist will be back in action on Saturday when they host Averett at 4 p.m.
