Box Score ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - Methodist took the early 4-1 lead in the first half over N.C. Wesleyan College before finishing with the 9-2 victory on Sunday.
Kristin Habig scored the first two goals of the game to give the Monarchs the 2-0 advantage. The Bishops got on the board with a goal in the 27th minute, but Methodist responded with goals from
Danielle Minichello and
Brooke Corley before halftime. Just 1:28 into the second half, Habig scored her third goal of the game on a cross from
Christine Ellington. Minichello and Corley scored again to go along with goals from
Jessie Oder and
Lisa Paschal to go ahead 9-1. The Bishops snuck in their second goal in the 72nd minute, but the Monarchs finished with the 9-2 victory.
Sara Altman and
Sarah Hayden combined in goal for Methodist with seven saves. Paige Brooks had nine saves for the Bishops.
Methodist will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to St. Andrews Presbyterian College.
