Box Score STAUNTON, Va. - The Methodist women's soccer team dominated the run of play against Mary Baldwin College and needed just one goal to defeat the Squirrels.
The Monarchs out shot Mary Baldwin 14-1 in the first half, but the first 45 minutes went by scoreless for both teams. Methodist got on the scoreboard in the 66th minute when
Marissa Kuzbyt assisted
Brooke Corley off of a corner kick. The Monarchs added 17 shots in the second half, but Corley's goal stood as the game-winner.
Methodist's Mary WIttenburg and
Sarah Hayden combined for the shutout with Hayden earning one save. Erica Gaughan made 19 saves in Mary Baldwin.
The Monarchs will be back in action on Friday when they host Averett University at 4 p.m.
