Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Methodist women's soccer team out shot the Ferrum Panthers 14-7, but couldn't capitalize on opportunities and fell 3-0.
The Monarchs dominated the chances in the first half and
Danielle Minichello had a breakaway in the 36th minute, but Ferrum goalkeeper Caitlyn Deaton made the save. The Panthers came through in the 39th minute and split the Methodist defense for Megan Webb to score. Webb capitalized on a defensive miscue early in the second half to score her second goal of the game. The Monarchs continued to battle including shots off of the cross bar and the post, but could not get one in the back of the net. Amber Lynch added an insurance goal in the 77th minute to give Ferrum the 3-0 win.
Sara Altman made two saves for the Monarchs while Deaton finished with seven stops for the Panthers.
Methodist will be back in action next Saturday when they travel to Christopher Newport for a 2 p.m. kickoff.
