Box Score BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Methodist traveled the 30 miles to NCAA Division I Campbell University on Saturday for a battle between the two men's basketball programs. Campbell took control late in the first half and finished with the 103-55 win.
The Monarchs (3-5) kept the game within 10 points through the first 15 minutes.
Kyle Combs drained a 3-pointer with 9:48 remaining in the first half to move the Monarchs within three at 18-15, but the Camels (8-1) responded with a 9-2 run. Campbell took their largest lead of the game with a late three just before halftime to lead 45-27 at the break.

Bryan Hockaday hit a 3-pointer in the first minute of the second half to move within 17, but Campbell took over to earn their eighth win of the year.
Mark Jernigan led the Monarchs with 14 points while Combs had 12 points and eight rebounds. Hocakday added nine points and six rebounds.
Campbell had five players in double figures led by Darren White's 33 points.
The Monarchs will finish final exams this week before wrapping up the semester at the Cruzin' Classic in Fort Lauderdale Fla. Dec. 17-18.
