FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The 2010-11 Capital One Academic All-America® Men's and Women's Track and Field/Cross Country teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, have been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the field and in the classroom.
Kristyn Zeiler has been named to the Second Team. She is the 11th Methodist student-athlete to earn Academic All-American honors from CoSIDA, and the first since 2009. Zeiler was named the USA South Cross Country Runner of the Year and won three conference championships between indoor and outdoor track. Most recently she was named Mason Dixon Outdoor Track Woman of the Meet at the conference championship. Zeiler is also a four-time Methodist Scholar Athlete and USA South Academic All-Conference honoree. A May 2011 graduate, Zeiler will begin the Physician Assistant program at Methodist this fall.

Program
To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 14,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
