Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – A late game-tying goal proved to be not enough as the Methodist women's soccer team fell, 4-3 in OT, to Piedmont on Sunday afternoon at the Monarch Soccerplex.

After Jessie Oder tied the game at 3-3 with well-placed shot from 30 yards out and just 2:57 showing on the clock, Piedmont needed only 20 seconds in the first overtime period to net the game-winning goal as Macie Rooke scored unassisted to lift Piedmont to a 4-3 win.

Methodist took a 2-0 lead into the half on a pair of unassisted goals in the opening 45 minutes. Brooke Corley started scoring at the 6:24 mark when she dribbled in on Piedmont's Marjorie Hammond and beat the keeper to her right.

In the 19^th minute, it was Kristin Habig scoring her seventh goal of the season as the Monarchs increased their lead to 2-0.

Piedmont's Laura Goodwin scored the Lions' first two goals of the contest as Piedmont knotted the game at 2-2. She scored unassisted at the 55:17 mark, then added another unassisted tally at the 76:42 mark to tie the game.

Dilyn MacLean appeared to win it in regulation for Piedmont when she at the 84:17 mark, before Oder netted her goal to tie the contest once again and send it into overtime where Rooke then lifted the Lions to the win.

Taylor Ross played all 90:20 in goal for the Monarchs and made four saves with the four goals allowed. Hammond played the opening 45:00 in goal for Piedmont and made two saves with two goals allowed, while Michaela Gardner played the final 45:20 and allowed one goal with two saves.

Methodist returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Ferrum for a 12:00 pm game.
