Box Score RALEIGH, N.C. - The Methodist women's soccer team used a first-half goal to defeat host Meredith, 1-0, on Wednesday evening.
In the 10th minute, MU's (6-6-2, 4-3-1 USA South)
Deycasha Miller fired a long pass upfield to
Katie Pedersen, who then shot the ball past MC's (7-5-4, 5-4-1 USA South) Kelsey Hopper into the lower right corner of the goal. This accounted for the lone score of the night.
The Monarchs won despite being outshot, 15-9, by the Avenging Angels. Methodist goalkeeper
Taylor Ross earned her first shutout of the season, making eight saves. Meredith's Hopper took the loss, stopping five shots.
MU will wrap up its season-long nine-game stretch of conference matchups when it hosts Mary Baldwin on Saturday, 2:00 pm.
