Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Methodist women's soccer team held visiting Huntingdon without a shot for the entire game as it won, 2-0, on Sunday afternoon at the Monarch Soccerplex. The Monarchs are now unbeaten in their past six matches, including five straight victories.
After honoring its five seniors before the opening kickoff, MU (10-6-2, 7-3-1 USA South) notched its first goal in the 15th minute as
Taylor Cavazos found the back of the net for the team-high eighth time this season, putting Methodist ahead, 1-0. That would remain the score as both teams left the pitch at halftime. Less than a minute into the second period,
Katie Pedersen scored the match's final goal on a breakaway, making it a 2-0 game.
MU did not allow the Hawks (4-11-2, 1-8-2) a single shot all afternoon long, owning a 20-0 edge in that category.

Sarah Hayden earned the win without making a save. She was replaced by
Taylor Ross in the 70th minute. Huntingdon's Josie Byard took the loss, stopping seven shots.
Methodist will conclude the regular-season portion of its schedule on Wednesday when it hosts Ferrum at 1:00 pm.
