Box Score AURORA, Ill. -- The Monarch women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 match to Otterbein on Sunday afternoon in the third game of the Chelsea Lloyd Memorial Classic.
 
OU (1-1) scored a pair of goals in the first half, adding one in the 58th minute. The Cardinal defense held the Monarchs (0-2) to four shots, with only one on frame by Jessie Oder in the 37th minute. In all, Otterbein tallied 13 shots with four on goal.
 
OU's Jillian Strimbu found the back of the net in the fourth minute, bringing the Cardinals to an early 1-0 advantage. Melinda Stemen, with and assist from Erica Meier, tallied another goal in the 26th minute. The final goal of the match was added in the 58th minute when Alvi Shively sent home an unassisted ball to bring the final score to 3-0 in favor of Otterbein.
 
Taylor Ross played all 90 minutes in goal for MU and made one save. Dana Strimbu earned the shutout for Otterbein, playing all 90 minutes and making one save.
 
The Monarchs return to the Monarch Soccerplex to start their home play Thursday evening against Barton, starting at 5 pm.
