Box Score ST. MARY'S, Md. -- The Methodist women's soccer team fell, 3-0, against host St. Mary's in a Saturday afternoon game at Seahawk Stadium.
Methodist (0-4) fell behind in the first half as the Seahawks' (3-2-1) Claire Kostelnik took a pass from Christy Ims and converted, putting SMC ahead, 1-0, just two minutes into the match. The score would remain, 1-0, going into halftime.
St. Mary's put its lead to 2-0 in the 48th minute after Jess Konecke, assisted by Beth Walton, scored from 35 yards out. To cap the day's scoring, Walton took a pass from Teresa Paz and found the back of the net in the 71st minute, giving the Seahawks a three-goal advantage.
Methodist goalkeeper
Taylor Ross was in goal for the full 90 minutes, making one save and allowing three goals. St. Mary's Sydney Larking took the win, making seven saves on the day.
MU will be on the road once more, playing Wednesday evening at Guilford at 6:00 pm.
