GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Methodist women's basketball team dropped a 64-46 decision at Greensboro College on Saturday afternoon.

The Monarchs (2-11, 2-5 USA South) held the Pride (10-3, 5-2 USA South) to 34.2 percent shooting (25-73) for the game, but Greensboro took advantage of a 68-34 edge in rebounding to secure the win.

The Pride scored the first seven points of the contest in assuming a 7-0 lead just under three minutes into the game.
Sydney Bryan got MU on the board on the ensuing possession with a jumper but back-to-back buckets by the Pride gave them an 11-2 lead at the 16:13 mark.

A three pointer by
Monique Lofton pulled the Monarchs within four points (18-14) at 9:47, but five straight points by Greensboro halted the run and gave GC a nine-point cushion (23-14) 43 seconds later. Greensboro would hold a 35-24 lead at halftime.

In the second half, GC led by at least nine the duration of the contest as Methodist was unable to make a run at the Pride.

Both teams struggled from the field, in addition to GC's aforementioned 34.2 percent mark, MU shot 29.5 percent (18-61). The Pride were also 0-10 from beyond the arc, while MU hit on 3-of-13 three-point attempts.

Bryan led the Monarchs with 10 points and five rebounds.
Kayla Pless added seven points, and
Alexis Wallace had six points and nine rebounds.
Jasmine Canady added five steals.

For Greensboro, Tiffani Stephens had a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds to go with six blocks. Shanita Hampton and Joslyn Spires each had 13 points. Azha McNeil added 12 boards.
