Box Score BLUEFIELD, Va. -- The Methodist men's basketball team dropped a 75-54 decision at Bluefield College on Friday evening.
 
Bluefield used a 14-5 run to close out the first half and turn what had been an 18-12 deficit into a 26-23 edge at the break. The Rams scored the first five points of the second half, and steadily pulled away from the Monarchs down the stretch.
 
Brandon Monk and Tabias Hilliard led the Monarchs with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Jackson Whitley added nine points and seven rebounds, and Monk pulled down eight boards. Sameer Daniels chipped in seven points off the bench.
 
As a team, MU hit on 40.8 percent of its shots from the floor (20-49), but just 4-of-21 three-point attempts (.190) and 10-of-17 free-throw attempts (.588). The Monarchs did hold a slight edge in rebounding, 36-35, but also turned the ball over 22 times to just 12 for Bluefield.
 
The Rams were led by Alonzo Howard's 17 points and nine rebounds. Zeke Williams added 13 points and seven boards, and Sidney Knox totaled 11 points to go with six assists.
 
The Monarchs will take on The University of the Cumberlands on Saturday at 2:00 pm at Bluefield.
