Sydney Bryan tallied a career-high 19 points and the Methodist women's basketball team ran away from William Peace for a 65-34 victory on Wednesday night at the March F. Riddle Center.

Methodist shot 50.0 percent as a team (27-54), held the Pacers to 22.0 percent shooting (13-59), including a woeful 1-for-19 from three-point range, outrebounded WPU, 50-28, and forced 27 turnovers in a complete performance.

Bryan finished 9-of-12 from the floor and added six rebounds with a pair of blocks.
Jasmine Canady and
Ayanna Pegues each had 11 points for the Monarchs, and
Alexis Wallace added six points and a game-high 13 rebounds to go with four assists, four steals and a pair of blocks.

After William Peace (6-14, 3-11 USA South) grabbed a two-point lead (13-11) on Ka'la Jordan's layup with just under 10 minutes left in the first half, the Monarchs (7-13, 7-7 USA South) effectively put the game away with a 24-6 run to close out the half and assume a 35-19 lead by intermission. The Monarchs heated up offensively, heating on 10-of-15 shots to close the period, while limiting the Pacers to 2-of-14 shooting with six turnovers.

The Monarchs' defensive pressure carried over to the second half as MU held WPU to just 15 points on 6-of-30 shooting. Methodist stretched its lead out over the entirety of the second half and held William Peace scoreless over the game's final 5:31, as WPU missed its final four shots and turned the ball over eight times over the last 12 possessions.

William Peace was led by Brittany Boykin's 14 points, and Derrica Jones added 10 points. Alexis Armstrong had six rebounds to lead the Pacers.
