FREDERICK, Md. -- The Methodist women's lacrosse team, outscored Hood, 8-3, in the second half to earn a 13-6 win over the Blazers on Tuesday afternoon.

After seizing a 5-3 lead by halftime, the Monarchs (5-0) saw their lead cut to one (5-4) as Hood's Derian Le scored just over five minutes into the second half.
Emily Brennen and
Cassie Walter scored back-to-back to push the Monarchs to a 7-4 lead by the 23:38.

Another Blazer goal was answered with two more from the Monarchs,
Zhane' Ruffin and
Maddi Ronelli this time, as MU held a 9-5 lead with 16:45 to play. Hood managed to scored once more, but the Green and Gold closed out the game with four straight tallies to remain perfect on the season.

Methodist had a huge 46-24 edge in shots and won 12 draw controls to nine for the Blazers. Hood did hold a 24-20 advantage in ground balls.
Emily Ewin was the winning goalkeeper, making 10 saves on the day.

Brennen finished with four goals and an assist to lead the Monarchs.
Cassie Walter had three goals, and Ronelli finished with a pair of goals and one assist.
Hope Motahari led the Monarchs with five draw controls, two caused turnovers and three ground balls.

Hood was paced by Le's two goals. Lauren Couch had seven ground balls, and was the losing goalie after making 16 saves.

Methodist's next game is set for Saturday afternoon against Piedmont beginning at 12:00 pm.
