CLERMONT, Fla. -- The Methodist women's lacrosse team wrapped up its spring break trip with an 18-1 loss to Nazareth on Thursday afternoon.

The Golden Flyers (3-0) held MU (3-3) to just nine shots on the day and scored the first 17 goals of the game. Nazareth controlled possession, winning 15-of-22 draw controls and was a perfect 13-for-13 in clears.

Suzie Gray led Nazareth with four goals and one assist, and Carly Gates, Haley DeVona and Gabbie Charles scored two goals apiece. Gates also had five draw controls and Katie Carroll picked up three ground balls.

After nearly two minutes of scoreless action to begin the game, the Golden Flyers erupted for seven goals in a four-minute span, including three from Gray, to take a 7-0 lead by the 23:27 mark of the first half. Nazareth tacked on six more goals in the first half for a 13-0 lead at intermission.

Four more goals by NC preceded MU's lone goal of the match, and unassisted tally by
Emily Creasy to make it 17-1. Katie Hernas capped the days scoring for NC with an unassisted goal with 2:16 to play.

Sarena Pillow and
Gabbi Tobias each had a pair of draw controls for MU.
Javen Henry added a pair of caused turnovers and two ground balls.
Emily Ewin started in the cage for MU and played the first 12:10 before giving way to Janelle Gant. Ewin allowed eight goals and made four saves. Gant also made four saves and surrendered 10 goals.

Mackenzie Corbett played the first half for Nazareth and was not forced to make a save. Brianna Rizzari played the final 30:00 and made five saves with one goal allowed.
