Winston-Salem, N.C. -- The Methodist softball team dropped a pair of games, 2-12, 1-13, to Salem College on Wednesday afternoon.

With the two five-inning losses, MU falls to 4-18 and Salem improves to 14-10 with the wins.

Down 12-0 in the fourth inning of game one, the Monarchs tallied their two runs in the top of the inning when
Natalie High homered, scoring Kristen Emrich, who singled in the prior at-bat.

High finished 2-for-2 with two RBI and
Morgan Faircloth,
Hannah Key,
Savannah Dunn and
Emily Hester all went 1-for-2.

In game two, Methodist tallied its lone run of the game in the third inning. With one out,
Heather Williams singled and a sacrifice bunt by Sydney Fold advanced her to second. After a walk by High,
Kristen Bailly singled to score Williams.

Wiliams was 2-for-3 with one scored run and
Courtney Thompson was 2-for-2.

The Monarchs will compete again at home on Friday against Maryville beginning at 12:00 pm.
