FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- The Methodist women's soccer team clinched the No. 4 seed in the East for the USA South Tournament and will host an opening round game on Wednesday evening.

The Monarchs finished the season with a 4-3 record in conference play, which was fourth in the East division. MU will face the No. 5 seed in the East, Ferrum, tonight at the Monarch Soccerplex beginning at 4 pm. The Panthers picked up a 2-0 win against William Peace to clinch the fifth seed.

The top seeds in the East, Salem and Meredith, earned a bye in the first round. The Spirits, as the top seeded team in the division, will face the winner of Methodist and Ferrum on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 3 pm, while the Avenging Angels will play the winner of No. 3 Greensboro and No. 6 N.C. Wesleyan.
In the west, Maryville and Piedmont each received a first-round bye as the top seeds.The No. 3 seed Covenant hosts the No. 4 seed Wesleyan today at 4 pm as the winner will play Piedmont on Oct. 28. The remaining teams out of the West, Huntingdon and Agnes Scott, play tonight at 5 pm with the winner advancing to take on Maryville, which will also be played on Saturday, Oct. 28. Â

Ticket prices for USA South Tournament games are set at $6 for adults and $3 for MU students and faculty members. Methodist students and faculty members with a valid student ID will be asked to sign in at the gate and the entrance cost will be covered by the school. There will NOT be a cost for the men's game tonight against N.C. Wesleyan that follows at 7 pm.
