FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Emory & Henry swept a softball doubleheader from Methodist on Sunday afternoon at Price Field.

Tiffany Cole tossed a two-hit shutout in the opener to lead the Wasps (3-3) to a 3-0 victory, and E&H took advantage of a number of MU (2-12) fielding miscues in the nightcap for a 9-0 win in six innings.

In the opener, Cole allowed just two hits and two walks a pair of strikeouts to improve to 2-1 on the season. She didn't allow a hit until Aly Thomas' single in the fifth inning.

E&H went up 2-0 in the second on a sacrifice fly by Leah Elswick and an RBI double by Amanda Whitlow. In the fifth, Thomas' single followed a walk to Lindsey Champion, giving MU runners on first and second with nobody out. However, a lineout by Olivia Rust turned into a double play and Emily Hester flew out to end the inning.

Caley Hodge led the Wasps at the plate, going 3 for 3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored.

In the nightcap, the Wasps capitalized on nine MU errors in the field which led to five unearned runs. Emily Kendrick improved to 1-2 with a four-hit shutout for E&H.
