CARY, N.C. –The Methodist baseball team dropped a 5-4 decision to William Peace on Friday afternoon in USA South action on Friday evening.
With the result, the Monarchs drop to 11-11 on the year. Meanwhile, the Pacers drop to 12-13 overall behind a 3-4 record in conference play.
MU scored the first run after
Matthias Carter led off the first inning with a triple. He would eventually score on a passed ball, 1-0. In the bottom of the fifth, the Pacers posted four runs on four hits and posed a 4-1 lead.
In the seventh inning, the Monarchs cut the deficit.
Clay Richardson tripled to right field and scored Alex Kachhler from first base. Eventually, Carter drew a walk which let Richardson to score from third, 4-3. The Monarchs added another run to cut the lead to 4-3.
Methodist will continue the weekend series tomorrow, March 18, at William Peace beginning at 3 pm.
