FERRUM, Va. -- The Methodist men's basketball team shot an even 50.0 percent for the game and posted a 77-63 win at Ferrum on Saturday afternoon.

Davion Ayabarreno led MU with 20 points,
Bryan Rouse scored 18 and
Jackson Whitley added a double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds as MU improved to 14-4 on the year and 9-1 in league play. The Panthers fell to 4-11 overall and 2-5 in the conference.

Methodist led just 35-32 at halftime, but held FC to 11 of 18 shooting (.393) in the second half in outscoring the Panthers 42-31 over the final 20 minutes.

Three pointers from Whitley and Rouse sandwiched around a Ferrum bucket to open the second half pushed MU's lead to seven with just over two minutes elapsed. Ayabarreno followed with a pair of buckets for a 45-34 lead, and a
Troynell Reese triple made it 50-34 with 15:55 to play.

The Monarchs continued to apply the pressure and saw their lead grow to 26 points at 60-34 with 12:29 on the clock. Ferrum never threatened from that point on and only got the deficit below 20 points in the game's final minutes with the win well in hand for MU.

Methodist committed just nine turnovers in the contest and held a 34-29 edge on the glass. The Green & Gold also shot 90.0 percent (18-20) from the charity stripe while the Panthers were 8 of 16.

Josh Dudley led Ferrum with 15 points and 13 rebounds, while Rashad Reed scored 14, and D'Andre Mullen added 12 points. Dudley also handed out five assists, and Marcus Huff scored eight points.
