FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- The Methodist softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Pfeiffer on Friday afternoon at Price Field.

Pfeiffer (29-3) won game one 9-0 in five innings, then took a 12-0, five-inning contest, in the nightcap. Methodist now stands at 8-28 on the season.

The Falcons' Kiana Millsaps picked up the win in the opener and improved to 19-3 on the season. She went 4.0 innings and allowed just one hit while striking out three. Kyndle Wallace pitched the fifth inning and surrendered just one hit with a strikeout.

Pfeiffer scored once in the second inning, then tacked on four runs in the third, including a three-run homer by Millsaps, to make it 5-0. Two more runs in the fourth and fifth innings sealed the five-inning win for the Falcons.

Jordyn Propst doubled and was responsible for both MU hits.
Searria Fisher (1-11) allowed five runs (4 ER) on five hits and three walk with two strikeouts in 3.0 to take the loss.
Aly Thomas pitched the final 2.0 innings and allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk.

In the nightcap, Pfeiffer's Kennedy Lester picked up her 10th win of the season (10-0) by allowing just two hits with four strikeouts in 4.0 innings. Kari Westerbeek pitched the final inning and allowed two hits.

Mackenzie Pennell, Chandler Walker, Millsaps and Lindsay Powell each had a pair of base hits for the Falcons, and Pennell drove in a team-high three runs.

Fisher was 1 for 2 for the Monarchs, and
Carleigh Haywood,
Morgan Faircloth and
Sydney Kay also recorded base hits.
Brittany Jones (1-8) was tagged for the loss in the circle, allowing four runs on six hits and two walks with one strikeout in 3.0 innings.
