ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Methodist men's tennis team traveled to Georgia Tech for the USA South Men's Tennis Tournament Championship match, but faltered against N.C. Wesleyan, 5-0, at the Bill Moore Tennis Center on Sunday night.

The match was scheduled to be played in LaGrange, Georgia as part of the USA South Spring Sports Festival, but was moved due to poor weather conditions all morning.

In doubles play, the team of Jacob Oehser and Reid Rose fell to Ionnis Brokakis and Roberto Puig, 8-3, while Coleman Baker and Trent Harner dropped an 8-1 contest to Aditya Iyer and J.D. Telles.The Bishops closed doubles play with an 8-2 win against Wynn Johnson and Kayhahn Alikhani.

Telles defeated Rose, 6-0, 6-2 and Iyer dropped Johnson 6-1, 6-0, to clinc the victory.Hayden Wilfong was the lone Monarch to win a set as he was leading David Chang, 6-2, 1-2 before the match was completed.

For their efforts during the weekend, Harner and Wilfong each were named to the all-tournament team, with Telles earning MVP honors.
