HARRISONBURG, Va. -- The Methodist women's lacrosse team wrapped up its 2018 season with an 18-11 loss at Bridgewater on Saturday evening in a game played on the campus of James Madison University.
 
The Monarchs finish the season with a final record of 9-9, while the Eagles move to 10-4 on the year.
 
Methodist held a 4-3 lead in the first half after a Monti Hendrix goal with 22:50 on the clock, but the Eagles answered with four straight goals to take a 7-4 lead by the 12:41 mark. Sarah Ewin broke MU's drought at 12:12 to make it 7-5, but a 5-0 run by BC staked the home team to a 12-5 lead just under three minutes into the second period.
 
Back-to-back goals courtesy of Monti Hendrix pulled the Monarchs to within 12-7 as the clock showed 20:49 to play. The Eagles had one more run in them and used a 6-0 spurt to go up 18-7 with 8:44 remaining. The Monarchs scored the final four goals of the game, including two more from Hendrix to account for the final score.
 
The Eagles outshot MU 45-27 and picked up 28 ground balls to 17 for MU. Draw controls were even at 15, but MU turned the ball over 25 times to just 11 for Eagles.
 
Hendrix led MU with five goals and one assist, while also adding seven draw controls. Sarah Ewin scored twice and handed out two assists with five draw controls and three ground balls. Madison Ronelli scored once, had two assists, three draw controls and a caused turnover.
 
Janelle Gant played 27:04 in the cage and allowed 10 goals with six saves. Molly O'Hara played 32:56 with 13 saves and eight goals allowed.
