RALEIGH, N.C. For the second time in seven days Methodist's men's tennis team has defeated William Peace University, on Wednesday downing the host Pacers, 7-2, for a season sweep of the USA South Athletic Conference series.
The Monarchs surrendered just one match in each of the doubles and singles competitions in rolling to their victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After Joshua Deutsch and Jack Holloway blitzed their way through an 8-1 at the No. 2 doubles slot for Methodist, the Pacers answered with an 8-2 win at the No. 1 spot.
- Owen Findley and Harrison Bitzberger teamed up at 3-doubles and quickly worked their way to an 8-1 win, though, to push the Monarchs into singles play with the 2-1 advantage.
- Luke Laney won in straight sets (6-1, 6-0) at 2-singles to add a third point for Methodist, but William Peace's Dylan Betancourt earned a win for the home team at No. 1 to prolong the match decision.
- E.J. Stolmeijer's resounding 1 and 0 win at No. 3 inched the Monarchs to within a point of a clinched triumph, and AJ Rogers provided that point at No. 4 with a straight-set win.
- Max Linder and Samir Tewari won in succession at Nos. 5 and 6 to close out the match.
- In the seven matches won by the Monarchs, they surrendered a combined total of just 15 games to Pacer opponents.

- Methodist is scheduled to travel to Danville, Virginia, for a Saturday league match at Averett University, a team that they defeated Tuesday evening at home, 8-1.
