LaGRANGE, Ga. Methodist women's lacrosse capped off its regular season with an impressive 18-9 win over host LaGrange College in USA South Athletic Conference play Saturday afternoon. The Monarchs finish the season on a thrilling five-game win streak and have won six of their last seven before heading into the conference tournament.
Methodist caught fire in the first half Saturday, scoring seven consecutive goals en route to a 13-3 halftime lead, despite starting with and playing one player short the entire game.
The Monarchs' superiority in draw controls, owning a 21-4 advantage, helped fuel the win.
Sarah Ewin had a team-high eight points.
Monti Hendrix and Ewin each finished with a team-high five goals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Holding a slim 3-2 advantage, the Monarchs reeled off seven straight goals to take a commanding 10-2 lead. Ewin scored three of the first four goals in the span and Methodist needed less than seven minutes to pull off the 7-0 run.
- After LaGrange opened the second half with a goal, the Monarchs scored four consecutive goals to give Methodist its largest lead of the day, a 17-4 advantage. Kaelyn Holland was key in the second half, scoring three of the Monarchs' six goals in the period.
- Davida White tried her best to keep the Panthers in the game as much as she could, scoring seven goals and assisting on the eighth and final goal for LaGrange.
- In the final 10:03, the Panthers scored the game's last three goals for the final score.
