LAGRANGE, Ga. The Methodist women's lacrosse season came to a close against top-seeded Meredith College in the semifinals of the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament in LaGrange, Georgia. The Avenging Angels topped the Monarchs, 27-3, Friday afternoon.
Sarah Ewin scored the first Methodist goal of the day and she finished with two goals. Ewin entered the game with 67 points on the season and the two points in this game moved her to ninth all-time for points in a season, while her 124 career points is eleventh all-time.
Lindsey Brennan had the other Monarch goal and
Sydney Bonner contributed an assist.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Meredith continued its conference dominance. Entering the semifinals, the Angels had only allowed 12 goals to USA South opponents while scoring 248.
- Ewin, with an assist from Bonner finally ended the Angels' 14-0 run with the Monarchs' first goal late in the first half.
- The game finished with Methodist on a 2-1 run over the final 14 minutes. Ewin capped the game with a goal with about seven minutes remaining.
- Meredith needed only 10 minutes for a 9-0 advantage.
STAT FACTS
- Monti Hendrix finished tops on the team in draw controls (four), ground balls (three), and caused turnovers (two).
- Mary Ellen Kelliher earned six saves and three ground balls.
- Ewin caused two turnovers and won two draw controls, in addition to her two goals.
- Methodist was able to cut down on its turnovers in the second half. They had just seven turnovers in the final 30 minutes after 14 through the first period.
