Season-High 22 Goals Have Monarchs Peaking

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.  Kaelyn Holland's career day of eight goals and an assist, and an overall dominant performance by the Monarchs led to a 22-1 victory over visiting Salem College in USA South Athletic Conference women's lacrosse action Tuesday afternoon.

Holland tied her career-high of eight goals while also setting a new team mark this season.

The win gives Methodist its third conference win of their last four games with the lone loss coming in overtime. The Monarch offense is peaking at the right time with the conference tournament nearing. After scoring 62 goals through the first seven games, Methodist has scored 77 goals in its last four matchups.

A win Saturday on Senior Day against visiting N.C. Wesleyan would catapult the Monarchs into the sixth seed of the conference standings either outright or in a tie. Only the top six teams of the conference qualify for the tournament.
