FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. Kadie Snipes scored a career-high 20 points against visiting Pfeiffer University, but it was not enough to fully ground the Falcons as Pfeiffer defeated Methodist women's basketball, 65-57, in USA South Athletic Conference action Wednesday evening.
Snipes caught fire in the fourth quarter, knocking down three long range bombs for a total of six made treys (a career-high) out of 11 attempts. Her fourth-quarter shooting was the reason why the Monarchs were able to whittle down an 18-point Falcons lead to just nine with 1:25 left to play in the game.
Snipes tied the program record, becoming the eighth Monarch to record six made threes in a game and the first since the 2014-15 season.

Location: Riddle Center; Fayetteville, N.C.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Methodist was undone by a 9-0 Pfeiffer run in the third quarter, the difference in the game. The Falcons were able to turn a slight, 29-26 early-third-quarter advantage into a double-digit lead at 38-26. Pfeiffer outscored the Monarchs 22-11 in the third frame thanks to Kortni Pinion. Pinion had 10 points on four-of-six shooting in the third stanza.
- Methodist and Snipes did their best to try to rally but a 16-point deficit entering the final period was too much to handle, despite the Monarchs outscoring Pfeiffer, 22-14. Methodist showed fight in out-rebounding the Falcons, 15-5, in the frame. The seven offensive rebounds granted the Monarchs valuable extra possessions in an attempt to comeback.
- Methodist had answers for Pfeiffer's baskets in the second quarter, despite being unable to tie the game or retake the lead. When the Falcons were up 22-14, their largest lead of the first half, the Monarchs responded with two straight buckets to close the gap to 22-19. Jazanae Billings earned assists on a jumper from Emily Ricks and a Snipes' three. With 1:14 left in the quarter, Billings scored points of her own with a three-pointer to bring the lead back down to three points.
- Snipes gave Methodist its only lead of the game with a three-pointer to go up 5-4. Unfortunately, that held for 34 seconds. Snipes closed out the first quarter making both of her free throws following a Pfeiffer technical to cut the deficit to 11-7.
STAT FACTS
